As part of its commitment to supporting development by the tourism industry, the collective mobility company of Moventia, Moventis TCC, has renewed its Barcelona Biosphere Commitment to Tourism Sustainability certificate.
More specifically, the international project backed by Biosphere tackles environmental, economic and socio-cultural issues, and is also a reputable way of managing and recognising sustainability.
In this regard, the certificate promoted by Barcelona City Council, the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, Barcelona Provincial Council and Barcelona Tourism Council helps to promote a sustainable commitment from the business fabric in the city and province of Barcelona.
Besides Moventis TCC as a sightseeing transport operator, around 1,000 companies and services that also adopt best business practice were recognised with the Barcelona Biosphere Commitment to Tourism Sustainability certificate at a presentation event on 16 February at Disseny Hub Barcelona.
The official event was attended by such institutional representatives as Jordi Valls, Deputy Mayor for Economic Affairs, the Treasury, Promoting the Economy and Tourism; Mateu Hernández, Managing Director of the Barcelona Tourism Consortium; and Salvador Vendrell, a member of the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona.
Via numerous integrated tourist mobility services, Moventis interconnects all its efforts as an operator of such services to foster responsible and sustainable management in passenger transportation by road. The certificate obtained by Moventis TCC also reflects a major contribution to the 2030 Agenda and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
By renewing this certificate, which Moventis TCC was first awarded in 2021, the business division of Moventia is consolidating its firm commitment to integrating international sustainability standards and encouraging environmentally friendly action in the development of its business within the tourism industry of Barcelona and surrounding areas.
