Moventis, the collective mobility division of Moventia, signed a renewal of its agreement as main sponsor of the TRAM Barcelona Open wheelchair tennis tournament on Wednesday.
The renewal ceremony for this contract took place at the offices of the Johan Cruyff Foundation, the organiser behind this sports initiative, in Sant Joan Despí. Attending the event were the Director of the Johan Cruyff Foundation, Pati Roura; the Director of the TRAM Barcelona Open, Jose Coronado; and the Corporate Vice-President for Internal and Institutional Communication of Moventia, Sílvia Martí.
Under this agreement, Moventis will return as main sponsor of the tournament and make a social contribution by serving as the main transport partner for the fourth consecutive year. The mobility company will provide the transfer services needed by participating athletes throughout the tournament – between their arrival in Barcelona and the end of their time in the city – using its fleet of fully adapted buses.
The Director of the Johan Cruyff Foundation, Pati Roura, welcomed the renewal of this partnership by saying that “it is great news for the Johan Cruyff Foundation to be able to once again count on the support of Moventis as main tournament sponsor. Mobility and transport are essential factors and, in that regard, Moventis meets all the needs of a tournament like this one”.
In turn, Jose Coronado, Director of the TRAM Barcelona Open, said this during the event to sign the agreement: “It is essential for the TRAM Barcelona Open to consolidate Moventis as main sponsor. For four years now, we have been receiving a quality service that guarantees accessible transport for participating athletes, and that helps us with the entire logistics service provided over the week that this tournament lasts”.
The Corporate Vice-President of Moventia, Sílvia Martí, said “Moventia is very proud to form part of the TRAM Barcelona Open for another year. Taking part in this sports event, which seeks to raise the profile of wheelchair tennis and to foster equal opportunities and social inclusion, reflects the commitment led by the company to progress by society, an inherent part of our DNA”.
After achieving the highest ITF1 category last year, the TRAM Barcelona Open will once again be held as the first championship in this category in Spain between 22 and 26 May at the Barcelona Royal Polo Club. The event will include the best tennis players in the world in the three categories: men’s, women’s and quad. Some 70 players from over 20 different countries are expected to take part in this seventh edition of the event.
Moventia and the tournament have maintained a close relationship since 2021, when the group began working towards becoming a sponsor and official transport partner for the TRAM Barcelona Open. The Johan Cruyff Foundation joined the organisers behind the tournament in 2023 and the partnership between the two entities has produced constant success ever since. The company’s private mobility division, Movento Auser (the official Renault and Dacia dealership of Movento), reached a new charity partnership agreement with the entity in August last year. Since then, the dealership has been making a contribution to the tasks of executing, coordinating, monitoring and communicating the adapted sport projects carried out by the foundation for children and young people with functional diversity, as well as to the other social transformation projects run by the Johan Cruyff Foundation throughout the region. Specifically, the mobility specialist has provided three vehicles to provide maximum support for the work undertaken by the foundation and to best suit the needs of the children with functional diversity.
