In line with the altruistic spirit and social commitment at Moventia, Miquel Martí, Group Chairman; Sílvia Martí, Corporate Vice-President for Internal and Institutional Communication of Moventia; and Joaquim Badia, General Manager of Stern Motor (Movento), visited the Sant Joan de Déu Paediatric Cancer Centre on Tuesday, 11 April.
Charity collection
After helping to raise 41,480 euros for the research centre from a Christmas charity dinner held in December, the representatives from Moventia wanted to return to the cancer research centre to learn about the new projects and continue supporting the medical initiative.
Dr. Manel del Castillo, General Manager of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, accompanied the Moventia executives. The representative from the maternity and children’s hospital told the executives from the group about the various advancements made in the field of oncology over recent months thanks to the donations from companies and entities like Moventia.
Moventia supports the Sant Joan de Déu Paediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona
Sant Joan de Déu is one of the European paediatric centres that treats the most patients. The hospital opened Spain’s first specialised oncology centre on 16 June, the Sant Joan de Déu Paediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona, created entirely from donations. The facility brings together all the various care services aimed at patients with childhood cancer into one place and also houses spaces focused on research. It seeks to care for the large volume of patients – more than 400 new cases every year – more effectively, smartly and appropriately with a highly qualified team from the Oncology Department of the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona.
Moventia believes it is vitally important to get involved in projects with a positive social impact in the regions where it operates. The group is therefore strengthening our commitment to the Sant Joan de Déu Paediatric Cancer Centre Barcelona and can confirm we will continue making donations to support its development.
