Moventia was represented by Moventis, its collective mobility division, and Movento, its individual mobility division, at a strategic event on 28 May: the 3rd Automotive Day.
Organised for the last three years by the Monlau professional training school, the trade fair was held at the Nurburgreen Indoor venue in Les Franqueses del Vallès, Barcelona, and welcomed some 700 attendees, including companies and students interested in the sector.
In reflection of its clear commitment to growth and development, the benchmark mobility company had a stand at the event to offer information to attendees. In fact, more than 120 students visited our stand to ask about internships at the company or jobs at the various divisions when they have completed their studies.
The driving simulator that Moventia set up in the corporate area was also highly popular. Many young students demonstrated their skills behind the wheel of this DriveSim, a tool created in 2023 to support Moventis bus drivers in their training and upskilling efforts.
Talks were given at the 3rd Automotive Day through which professionals from the sector were able to offer some interesting insights to students. Dani Piera, Head of Services at Movento, took part in the round table discussion entitled The most highly sought-after professional profiles: Which skills are in demand?
Alongside other professionals from the sector, Dani explained what Moventis and Movento are doing and defended the high value of professional training or dual training for the two divisions attending the event: “Professional training and the students who undertake Workplace or Dual Training with us represent our talent of the future. However, we do not only train the students who join the group and give them a leg up in the sector, but we also learn from them. We make them part of day-to-day and expect them to offer their outlook on reality from their perspective. They are a fundamental part of the change process taking place in the sector”.
In terms of the needs and professional profiles that the company is looking to find, the Head of Services at Movento said this: “We have been working very hard with young men and women on Automotive, Electromechanics and Bodywork Degrees but also with students in other fields, such as Administration and Finance, Commerce and Marketing or Sales and Commercial Space Management. We have need for Workshop professionals, not only mechanics, bodywork repairers or painters but everyone involved in the After-sales department (After-sales Service Agents, Technicians, Guarantee Clerks, etc.). At the moment, we are looking for young men and women who want to join the commercial departments to fill roles related to sales or product expertise. Marketing, finance and even human resources are other areas with vacancies”. “Our commitment to Professional Training not only seeks to fill vacancies at the company but to also integrate Professional Training into our day-to-day, in every area and department at the company”, he concluded.
Attending the 3rd Automotive Day was essential for Moventia. The company has a firm commitment to training. The fact that Moventia has been working with various education centres throughout Catalonia to foster the integration of young people into the labour market for ten years is a clear reflection of that commitment.
