Moventia and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) have signed a partnership agreement aimed at promoting ties between students and the business world through participation in various activities by the group involving both parties.
The agreement was signed at the university’s Eureka building by the multinational family transport company and PRUAB, the non-profit organisation set up by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the National Scientific Research Council (CSIC) and the Institute for Agri-food Research and Technology (IRTA) responsible for managing and operating the UAB Research Park. The individuals putting their name to paper on the agreement were Rosa María Sebastián on behalf and in representation of the UAB Research Park Foundation and Sílvia Martí, Vice-President for Corporate Affairs, Internal and Institutional Communication at Moventia.
Under the agreement signed by the parties, the partnership between Moventia and UAB seeks to promote and improve technology and knowledge transfer activities by UAB and to foster entrepreneurial activity through new technology-driven research companies and the business world and interaction between research and the business world, especially in the fields of science, technology and innovation.
The agreement, which came into effect on the day it was signed and that will last for two years, may be extended up to a maximum of four years. Moventia will now join the UAB Companies Collective programme, which consists of creating and promoting a hub for talent, R&D+i challenge resolution and networking between the UAB community and businesses in order to boost partnership ties between the university ecosystem and the various divisions of this mobility specialist. This agreement with the Autonomous University of Barcelona is a huge step forward for Moventia not only in terms of its corporate social responsibility efforts but also in terms of its contribution to the goal of enriching and benefiting from mutual knowledge between the university and businesses, as well as to promoting the attitude of future professionals by giving them tools and opportunities during their period of professional growth.
