At an outstanding gala event at the Casa Llotja de Mar in Barcelona, Moventia was given the prestigious ‘Family Business’ award at the 2023 Banc Sabadell Company of the Year Awards organised by El Periódico. This recognition distinguishes the legacy of four generations of the Martí family, who have led the company ever since it was set up a century ago in 1923.
From its humble beginnings as a local business in Sabadell, Moventia has evolved into a multinational enterprise with operations on three continents thanks to significant growth and corporate success over the years.
The award was collected by Miquel Martí, Chairman of Moventia. He was accompanied by other important members of the company, including: Sílvia Martí, Corporate Vice-President of Moventia; Miquel Martí Pierre, CEO of Movento; Santi Colomer, General Manager of Movento; Juan Giménez, General Manager of Moventis; and Sandra Llunell, Head of Marketing at Moventia and Customer Experience at Moventis, as well as other members of the family who did not want to miss this important event.
The award ceremony was attended by some 300 people in total and seeks to highlight the best corporate initiatives in Catalonia. The event was also attended by the Most Honourable Pere Aragonès, President of the Regional Government of Catalonia, and other leading public officials such as the Councillor for Economic Affairs, the Honourable Natàlia Mas; the Mayor of Barcelona, His Excellency Jaume Collboni; the Central Government Representative in Catalonia, His Excellency Carlos Prieto; and the President of the Provincial Council of Barcelona, Her Excellency Lluïsa Moret, among others. Senior figures from Prensa Ibérica were also at the event, the publishing company behind El Periódico.
The other winners at the 2023 edition of these awards were:
Marco Sansavini, Chairman of Vueling and soon Chairman of Iberia, who was recognised as Businessman of the Year for driving the transformation of his airline based on values and teamwork.
The award for Most Sustainable Company went to 011h for providing a disruptive solution in the construction sector with a major environmental impact.
Soler & Palau received the award for Most International Company for its major expansion efforts and success in implementing a decentralised management model.
Peptomyc was recognised as the Most Innovative Company for its advancements in therapies to treat cancer.
The company Do Good owned by Value Retail won the award for Most Inclusive Company due to its fight against child marriage.
Finally, Aigües de Barcelona was given the 2023 Company of the Year Award for its consolidated success, sustained growth, social responsibility and work on raising environmental awareness.
